Learning atheories

Objectives

At the end of this session the learner should be able to 
  • List some of the learning theories
  • Describe briefly each learning theory
  • Give practical examples to elaborate on use of each learning theory
  • Design a training program to train health care staff on a new health information system
Content area

Learning theories
  • Behaviorism
  • Cognitivism
  • Constructivism
Procedure
  • Search from internet definitions of each learning theory
  • Discuss among class about the definitions you have found to get the basic concepts of each theory
  • Individually find examples on occasions where each theory can be used & then discuss 
  • Listen to the presentation
  • In groups design a training programme covering most of the theories

cognitivism-learning through classifications
humanism-learning due to need, these needs may be artificially created. ex-to get promotions,to pass exams
constructivism-get together and build up knowladge
